NEW 300-CAPACITY CLUB, DRYAD WORKS, TO OPEN
A new 300-capacity club, Dryad Works, is opening in Sheffield this weekend, with the first party set for Friday 18th October.
The space, which is located in Parkwood Springs, will host a drum ‘n’ bass and dubstep all-nighter, with SpectraSoul, Halogenix, Tephra & Arkoze, Displace and Headroom all set to play alongside MCs Visionobi and Sur-T. This follows a soft launch hosted by Pretty Pretty Good which involved Midland, Dr. Rubinstein and Roi Perez.
There is currently only one other event that has been made public lined up for Dryad Works, with the venue set to open its doors once again for a session featuring Joker, Kaiju, Sicaria Sound and more on Saturday 16th November.
The team responsible have said their mission is to establish “Sheffield’s home for collaboration through music, arts and culture”. This is the latest in a stream of new openings offering hope for a UK club scene that has been decimated by closures over the last decade. Werkhaus, Colours and Peckham Audio are the newest names on London’s nightlife map, while mega-venue Depot and Cotton have bolstered Manchester’s offering.
